FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get the best results from my heated extractor?
First, fill the tank with the hottest water available (up to 140°F). Turn on the solution pump and hold the spray trigger until a steady water flow is achieved.
If using high-pressure pumps (200 PSI+), prime the unit if required. Turn on heaters and allow the machine to pre-heat for 5–6 minutes.
After pre-heating, trigger the spray again until hot water flows. This clears remaining cold water from the system.
During extraction, perform 2–3 dry passes for every wet pass to improve drying time and heater recovery.
How can I tell if my dual-cord machine is on two separate circuits?
Dual-cord units include a blue indicator light on the switch panel. When plugged into separate circuits, the light activates and a tone sounds.
If the indicator does not activate, both cords are likely on the same circuit.
What is the process for cleaning hard surfaces?
1. Identification
Identify the flooring type before cleaning. This determines the correct chemicals and tools.
- Resilient Flooring — Vinyl, VCT, Linoleum
- Man-Made Stone — Terrazzo, Quarry, Ceramic, Brick, Saltillo, Concrete
- Natural Stone — Marble, Slate, Granite
2. Application
Apply the appropriate chemical evenly across the surface and grout lines using a sprayer system.
3. Emulsification
Allow chemicals to dwell long enough to break down dirt and grime effectively.
4. Agitation
Scrub stubborn areas using brushes or a floor machine. High-pressure spray may also be used.
5. Elimination
Remove solution using a wet-dry vacuum or portable extractor. Ensure area is properly dried and marked with warning signs.
